Snoqualmie Summit to Snoqualmie Valley

Sunday, September 9th, 2012

Greetings past Mountains to Sound Racers and new racers. We are so excited to bring you a brand new race, a brand new date, a brand new course AND A BRAND NEW NAME.

The new Iron Horse course and new date promise to bring the same gritty challenges that our 100 Mile course did but we'll do it in fewer miles and focus our attention to the Cascades and the Snoqualmie Valley.

With over 70 miles of water, trails and roads, we promise you a challenging Sunday in September to enjoy with friends and family!

Beginning with our 8 mile paddle leg on Lake Keechelus, just over Snoqualmie Summit, our new course follows much of our original MTS Relay course but we're staying more centralized at Meadowbrook Farm to bring you multiple starts and finishes there. We're also planning a Kids 'Iron Pony' Division at Meadowbrook for some wild Single Track Mt Biking and Obstacle course running that we'll all love to see.

Leg Two brings us back to our original start point where Mountain Bikers touch off from the paddlers and head for the two mile Snoqualmie tunnel and on down the 21 mile Iron Horse Trail to Rattle Snake Lake finish.

Trail Runners go from there and run down the Snoqualmie Valley Trail for 8.2 miles ending at Meadowbrook Farm between the cities of North Bend and Snoqualmie.

Road Bikers then head out into the scenic Three Forks Natural Area along a route familiar to past years racers. A 25 Mile 'long, scenic criterium style' loop up and around Tokul Hill and along curvy roads like Mill Pond and Reinig then on through North Bend, Snoqualmie and back to Meadowbrook Farm to the delight of screaming fans.

Single Track Mountain Bikers take it from there and slosh through a double loop, five mile course of mud and logs on an obstacle laden track for a few laps then back to the finish.

Best of all, YOUR WHOLE TEAM WILL FINISH TOGETHER with a muddy obstacle course fun run to test the resolve your team has ! (and fun to watch !)
Solo racers, of course, will finish this last leg on their own.

All the while, the 'Iron Pony' Kids Division will be in full swing at Meadowbrook with Single Track Mt Bike Racing and Obstacle courses to challenge them. Great prizes too.

So join us this coming September for a gritty romp through the Cascades to Snoqualmie Valley.

Course Details, maps and How To's will be rolling out in the next few weeks with plenty of info on how to participate
